Sheenagh Dernie, BA(Hons)  Dip.Music(Open)  ARCM

Sheenagh Dernie was trained in singing, piano and violin at the Royal College of Music.   Her teacher training was then completed at Bretton Hall, where it was suggested that she had a talent for conducting – a gift she has been trying to develop ever since! Over the years Sheenagh has directed numerous vocal groups – ladies choirs (Roundelay 1984-1999) male voice choirs (Cor Meibion De Cymru 2004 –2021) as well as mixed choirs (Cantemus, Newbury 2000-2015.) Caritas Children’s Choir is her retirement project – having retired from teaching piano and singing at Our Lady’s, Abingdon, and St Hugh’s Prep School near Faringdon. Caritas was formed to raise money for charity – and particularly to support Christian Aid.

Lorraine Chapman,  MA  CT ABRSM  Dip(ABRSM)

Lorraine joined Wantage Male Voice Choir as Accompanist in August 2008.  Her other passions are swimming, cycling, yoga, and several types of needlecraft.  She also has a black belt in Karate, and is currently researching for a PhD as well as running a very busy music teaching practice.
